photoblog image Shadow Tunnel

Shadow Tunnel

This image has been through a lot...black and white conversion of a digital scan of a 35mm Kodak ISO 200 film.  Taken in the Fall of 1998 at Bowling Green State University.  I lost the negative a couple of times which was a problem since this scene no longer exists on campus.

Thanks for all the comments!  Glad everyone liked this one.

Glad you persevered - this is a really strong graphic image. Those shadows are fantastic
Travis: It's fantastic that you think it's fantastic. Thanks.
Ilove the tunnel of patterened shadows but the rectangular end image looks too dominant for me

Travis: I will agree with you on the end image, but it is much more of a distraction in color...orange/yellow fence and a pale blue sky. I may spend some time tonight finding a solution. Thanks.
Very beautiful.
Travis: Thank you for the compliment.
yes its a shame it doesn't exist anymore, bet you would love to shoot that again, great shot for sure and work of coursesmile
Travis: Ah, the days of film on a college student budget...only press the shutter button when you're absolutely sure. Much more discipline required than there is with digital. I do kick myself for not taking more shots that day.

I think the shot is absolutely brilliant. You probably didn't realize it back in the days how good the job you've done here is. I'm going to look through your archive in a minute, but I can tell this will be a jewel in any archive that I know of.
Travis: That is very kind of you to say. Thank you much!
well worth searching for that negative, great shot
Travis: It may be the best picture I've ever taken, so I'm very fortunate to have found the negative. Glad you liked it.
Glad you haev saved it - very cool patterns, and I like the tree and fence in the bright end of the tunnel
Travis: Thanks for the comment. It will be a challenge for me to top this one. I'll just have to keep my eyes open and my camera handy.
This is a great shot, Travis. Well seen!
Travis: Thank you dave. This is the best shot I have ever taken and it was only by chance that I had my camera with me that day.
Wonderful stuff - put that negative in the vault!
Travis: One of my best for sure. Glad you like it.
